Haaahn, let's see if Asuka-kun can remember.

I think it involved me wanting to get Battle Moon Wars back then when a translation patch for it didn't exist yet, act 4 wasn't out yet at all, and DoujinStyle still went by the old name of SimulationStyle.

I was merely a youtuber only beginning to upp vids, mostly MUGEN vids when I was really into it back then.I was mostly curious because of the Tsukihime chars, which I only merely knew as being from Melty Blood at the time being present in the game.I think somewhere in the youtube comments or something they mentioned that I could get it from SimulationStyle. Since I was a very curious person, I wound up checking the place out.

Well, I found the game I wanted, then there was the simfiles and stuff on the site back then that I wasn't really interested in, later realizing that I needed to have to make an account at the forums to even download anything, I went ahead and did so.Naming the account the current name you see right now, AsukaKototachi. No, it's not a fusion of Asuka Langely of Evangelion fame's name and some last name I made up. Rather, it was the main character of a story I was writing around that time, which I never really finished because the pc I contained the story on has gone dead.Yeah, I bet some of you are thinking that the Kototachi bit is really weeaboo sounding. Well, I wanted to think of something original, and that's my user name's origin. I'm the one and only Asuka Kototachi. Waha.

After that I went and got what I wanted. said game. I was able to run the game(somehow, I think) despite not having jp font/japanese system locale which is required for some doujinsoft games to be played.I had a fun time, I cleared the 1st part, but due to laziness I didn't get to some of the others till later on.You can probaly say I was a leecher back then. Ehehe.

But it wasn't till later, that I eventually wound up started posting on the forums, because I've been always been a bit of a forum fag like that.

As for discovering touhou...well that's mainly thanks to MUGEN.

I wound up downloading plenty of chars, mostly at random, grabbing some of the touhou chars from IaMP(Immaterial and Missing Power/the first fighting game of the touhou series).When I started to mess with them, I eventually became curious in their origin, and realized that Simulationstyle had the game at the time, so I also hastily picked it up. Of course, I probaly wasn't really the best at it(Grilleds and 6djme kicking my ass quite a bit over netplay proves it), but regardless I had a good time with it.

It wasn't till eventually I was curious about the chars themselves(And not cause they were loli) and where in the series they originated from. Around this time I was already have begun to start posting in the Mental Shift, I met 6djme and Kizeki. Since I wasn't so familiar with the game's genre, 6djme recommanded I got started with Perfect Cherry Blossom, Which I still haven't 1cc even to this very day, because Youmu kicked my ass.

But well, I guess that's all to know. How Grilleds came in is already explained on his page.

I don't remember any other notable stuff, but I wound up helping out with reupping stuff to mirror filehosts for the Doujinsoft Reclaimation thread when Doujinstyle's mainsite was to be taken down. I had to give back to the community in some way after all.
