No.That's just so wrong.
Smash bros isn't childish for many reasons:

1.ESRB Teen , so only teens can plays , not kid.
2.You think the difficulty of the game is oriented at children?
3.It's not oriented at children lol , it's oriented at all the crazy gamers on youtube/forums/everywhere posting things about brawl.
4. STFU and go play BRAWL!

ESRB ratings mean squat. Just ask any minor who has played GTA.

ok i havent tried Brawl but from what ive seen on youtube they totally ruined everything that was good about ssbm O.o
the graphic is "supposed" to be better but it ruins the platform game it used to be ><

XBOX is a mystery. It has good games and whatnot, but its so fragile that a stray gust of wind could break it.

Wii is okay, but the graphics are exactly the same as Game Cube, because its really just a modified GC anyways. Wii is mostly a gimmick.

PS3 sucks.



I'm actually quite dissapointed with gaming systems nowadays. too fragile, mostly graphics based, and almost frikkin everything has some kind of shitty online play that I never use because its a hassle.

Well, when the fighters look like this...









...and so on, they can beat the crap out of each other and it will still look kinda childish. Just like Pokémon is an analogous of a pretty cruel concept (cockfighting), but it still looks childish and cute.

Again, that doesn't mean it's a bad game or anything. In fact, I don't think a game like SSBs wouldn't work with a bunch of macho-men types tearing each other to pieces in a bloody combat or anything violent and "mature" like that.

I would get a Wii anytime, the thing is that after coming back from work and start playing Wii with the Wiimote could make me even more tired,

I like the game, but there are no pro tech's. Like wave dashing, chain grabbing, jump cancelling, etc. I myself didn't, but my friend Andrew spent hours on training mode in Melee mastering these techniques... But, I practiced chain grabbing with Fox, it was pretty fun... And all of the old Characters are Nerfed down to nothing... Fox's speed really pisses me off, and his shining is no longer a one hit spike... But, let's look at the positives. Shit loads of characters, SICK soundtrack, custom levels, and storymode (Sub-Space emissary). So did SSBB live up to the expectations? In my oppinion, it was worth about 75% of the expectations...

What you're basically saying is that the glitches that tourney players used to abuse have been fixed, forcing those players to learn new strategies, like everyone else.

What annoys me most about that is that I've heard some tourneyfags are complaining that the fixing of those glitches and such put everyone at the same level, or something like that. If they are truly so great at the game, they should have no problem doing well without their beloved exploitations.

If they need glitches to win then they aren't "pro" at all and they are just simply FAGS. But I bet they'll put you the lame excuse "that's the game in its original state and how it should be played". Wrong, a game isn't a static thing and it can change like a living being (ie: PC games and their patches that sometimes can drastically change everything)


From the whole thing I get from this thread, because I took the time to read it, yes, the game lived to the hype but ONLY if you like that kind of games and you aren't searching for something completely out of this world... Rez, Exception, Hellsinker, the last moments of G-Darius (A HUGE BATTLESHIP IS APPROACHING FAST), those fill the bill for me.

I'm inclined to agree with Eryth's first post in this thread so don't send me to the gallows pole =P Despite Snake and others are here, I still feel quite meh about the game... but that might have to do with the fact that I won't be able to play it (no money and a Wii costs almost 1.000usd over here in Argentina, yes robbery of the highest rank) so why, like we say, "hacerse mala sangre" (in english it would be "why bother", but it's not the exact, exact thing)

Anyway, I bet all the complaints about the characters (or the game itself) would cease the day a Super Smash Marisa Brawl Live & Reloaded for the Win and Mucho Mucho comes out with the whole Touhou rooster ready to pwn each other. That day the hype meters will hit the stratosphere.

To conclude, to each their own. I say, respect other people opinions. I don't expect everyone to love Samidare, Thunderforce V or R-Type Delta as much as I do. And it's normal that not EVERYONE will like the same thing, hell, even in things a lot of people agree they like you can find different points of view.

Peace people. uh, one thing that somehow makes me like the game: you can nuke Pikachus and other pokémon. xD
