Usually I'd reply with ">sankaku" but in this case it seems like an interesting article, it's funny they'd complain so much without having played it/being able to understand it while their own country produces so many VNs with content that'd be offensive to much larger audences.

Sankaku is a bit legit when they're providing sources. However in this cause it's a bit different.

If Sankaku posted legit stories or not is tough to say. But it isn't exactly news that Katawa Shoujo have a bad reputation in Japan / 2chan due to it's name. Since this isn't exactly the first time we've seen something like this.

I'm seeing a lot of fans for Lily. Never understood the massive appeal about her (like how people don't get why Hanako is popular). I don't her being blind, but I don't think I could get to the 'friendlier' parts unless I turned on the filter. She just seems like someone I would want to be friends with rather than a romantic partner.

Because sometimes the disability doesn't make the person? I know people who are physically handicapped (ie deaf) and are great people. I've never been in a relationship with said deaf people, but I know someone who is engaged to a deaf person. Some people do mind the fact their partner is handicapped in some way, and how that make effect their children directly, but there are also those who believe that they could help their child/their child may be normal. The handicap may not even be an issue. There are multiple ways to think this through Chagen.

It's kinda harsh thinking of those.

What if you yourself are disabled?
And people think "Oh, disabled people are disgusting" I'm sure it would hurt you as well.

Moral lesson of the VN: Disabled people are still human, have personalities and have feelings as well.

And BTW: VN does not have one of those *Instant horny sex* thing like most of VN are now.
It also emphasizes Love and Romance along with sex.
I'm pretty sure you'll also have sex with someone you love.

I remember when I came for the crippled girl sex only to find amazing narrative and writing.

To categorize this game as Porn is actually insulting, if anything its a damn good book with hentai thrown in. I gotta admit this VN threw me off.

That would be an insult as well since Porn and Hentai fit as same category.

I'd rather just call it Mature material or Adult Material.
Since there's an option where we could remove it.
Besides, the Adult scenes weren't pretty much hardcore like most of the VNs where you could see dicks and vagoos with slimy semen.
This is like softcore or mild.
And pretty realistic. Atmosphere is normal, story is normal, just a plot with twist.

Finally someone who brought up a very good explanation to this.

This game somehow teach us moral lesson about how disabled people are still human, thus have feelings and emotion just like a normal human being. Labeling this VN as hentai = stupid

Tip: Don't play Shizune's route. The writing isn't very good. Its also pretty long and boring. I like her, no offense, I just wish it was written with more love.

You really need to look beyond the person's disability. Thats a part of the whole game. People might have a disability but deep down they're normal kids with problems like everyone else. Seriously stop calling out on people playing this game as being cripple fetishists or something. This game is about developing a romantic relationship with a human being first and foremost, with that person happening to have a disability.
