So any impressions with this game and is there a translation yet for the game's options (namely for Video Settings)?

-EDIT-
Also, is there a way to change the keyboard settings? Since playing DynaMarisa, I rather have the Space bar to dodge and Shift to Jump.

-EDIT 2-
Also, save files are stored in [C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\HomuraCombat\SavedWorlds] for Windows Vista / 7.

So far I'm having problems with screen tearing and it doesn't seems like there's a V-Synch options anywhere. D:

No problems with running the program nor any resolution problems, but when I open the Console with "~" or "q" or "z" I can't seem to get out of it or enter the commands for it at all once it's open... unless i exit and re-enter the game.

Note: You can do a barrel roll into buildings and enemies won't be able to get you at all. Just make sure you leave a tad bit of space before pressing "shift" or "ctrl". All I need to do is that and use the rpg and it's like easy domination... Of course the buildings collapse too so be wary of that while inside the building.

Check your video card control panel. There's usually an option to force v-sync. It doesn't always work in my experience, especially for 2D games, but it's still worth a try.

@Astrum:
I know that in-game Q is suppose to activate and cancel your time-stopping ability. I hope the circle makes a config.exe for the controls in a later patch. Here's to hoping for an English patch.

@Aisha:
Well given that my brother's PC uses an nVIDIA GTX 460 card and the game was built with nVIDIA's Phys. X engine (which I was surprised to see from a doujin developer), I'm hoping Forced V-Synch can work since the game is installed.

They are automatic and from experience you have to put them in the correct positions for them to work. They need to be placed at a distance from the enemies, but not too far since it seems to me that the mortars have trouble detecting enemies if they are too close or too far. There's something about the firing angle as well lol I figured they tend to work when faced straight. It's also better if the enemies are approaching I think. Homura can get hurt from the explosions too, so watch out.

Hmm, I see. I got them to kinda work at some point but I don't like them very much.

I just completed my normal mode run through. If I read the start menu right I think I got 50% of the weapons if thats what that percentage means (might just be a "completion" percent taking into account difficulties) *shrug* Hopefully a weapon list/unlock guide will show up in english somewhere. Games fun, I'd love if the game had a list tracking what weapons you have and what you're missing. I want em all~

the controls are alot better than dynamarisa from my experience. Its just the weird camera that i cant stand. whenever i pan left or right really fast it moves in a weird big circle around homura.
so far my fav stage is no 7 =]

The 3 checkboxes at the bottom of the first tab in the options exe are:
  • Full-screen
  • V-sync
  • Allow changes to the frequency display mode in full screen (?)
(Disable if there's a black screen in startup)
I didn't really understand Google Translate's take on the third option though, so I left it in its raw form.
Hope this helps.

EDIT: Checkbox on the second tab is to enable hardware acceleration.

Anyone finished this ? I stop at 58%. 3 Stages to clear Normal, 1-2, 7 cleared on Hommando, some on Hard, 4 stage on Hardest. Probably got all weapons and almost 900 hp... Still DynaMarisa is better, but Homu Homu is good too.

I've cleared all stages on normal, and all but the last 3 on all difficulties so I'm about 80ish percent of the way (stage 10/11 will be so brutal on hommando and hardest ;-; ). I have the following weapon types: Machine gun, RPG, Missile, shotgun, pistol, grenade, mortar with 3 of each type of them so I assume I have them all but I hope I'm wrong. I want hidden/secret/special weapons D: Never played DynaMarisa but I do enjoy this quite a lot. I hope the developers continue it with expansions or something.

So what do the pink ribbons do anyways? I assume there is a counter for it at the main menu (bottom right corner, first one listed) but I'm not quite sure what they do. Are they max HP increases like Kreton is talking about? o_o

Yellow Ribbons - Heal hou during game.
Green Boxes - Gives new weapons
Grief Seeds - You know it.
Pink Ribbons... - When you finished stages, You see what you got, right? That japanese thins are "Maximum Stamina Increased" or sth like this. Yes. Each pink ribbon increase stamina by... I dunno. Perhaps one or two.

And, Zephiel if you don't played Dyamari - I don't know what the fuck are you waiting for. Dynamari - 92% cleared. Only few stages on Master... My friend cleare DynaMari in 100%... Only 49h.

Ah, I thought the moonrunes were for boxes which you didn't pick up. That clears up a lot of confusion. I only have stage 10 hardest/hommando and stage 11 hard/hardest/hommando left to do for 100% completion now. Hoping there's some kinda bonus/unlockable but I dunno if I'll ever see it. Those stages are so insanely brutal on hard difficulties.

and dynamarisa seemed interesting, but I just never really got around to grabbing it and I intend to clear this first before I pick up something else :P

I've made a small info page on DynaMarisa's gameplay at the Touhou wiki here, although it still needs work (I'm surprised that no one else in the wiki is contributing to putting info for the game). It's pretty much Earth Defense Force 2017 hosed down with Touhou juice, but does things some things differently than EDF 2017 since I have the original Xbox 360 (granted it was received as a gift used and missing the case :_;) and it's not as much of a time suck length and HP grinding-wise

Hope for this too. I'm kind dissapointed because, in dynamarisa you got one damn Unique weapon (like WHATDAFUCKDEVASTATINGQEDONLUNATICOLOLOLOLOL) after clearing each difficulty. Here, nothing... As far I cleared easy for now... Also, Homu Homu makes me angry because of bugs. Like jumping outside the game etc.

And really... Get dynamari... It's worth...

The main bug I have with it is the physics themselves :| While it is hilarious to launch enemies into the skybox it makes it a chore to track them down again, and in some cases they land outside of the map, beyond invisible walls, where you cant possibly hit them so the mission becomes unwinable. And yeah, Hopefully we get SOMETHING for a 100% clear at the very least, I'll be sure to post if anything happens, 4 ones left still. Stage 10/11 are so annoying e_e

edit:

Just 100%'d the game, all levels, all difficulties, 21 weapons found in total. Didn't seem to unlock anything new sadly, if there is something unlocked which someone finds I'd like to know. Especially if there are weapons I am missing. Seems like theres 7 weapon types in total and 3 weapons of each type from my own experience.
