Mostly down south, actually. It's about the same with most people down here when it comes to temper and technology. There's a reason I mention shotgun when it comes to most people wanting to use it on a comp when they come in because...well, you see this here. Not everyone is like this, at least in Arkansas, but there's a select few that I wouldn't let people near. But they aren't just south of the Mason-Dixon either.
One thing that my father got right...actually two things...when it came to the belt is he never had to swear off and say stupid, hurtful things when it came down to it and if my sister ever needed it, he would take it exceptionally easy on her. He never liked doing it and most of it was my mother encouraging it because she didn't want to be the one to look bad when it came down to it. You can tell the difference between when they're doing it for discipline (after the fact, at least) and when they're doing it because they're governed by hate and fear (which this guy clearly was).
But getting double-teamed by both of your parents like that? Shit.
And to be honest, I don't think this should be used to fire someone from a job. Their business life and their private life are two completely different things. Do I think this should make an impact on his election chances, though? Oh most certainly. It's character reference to someone's 'shotgun' method of thinking, which a judge shouldn't have.
