if you find it hard to read some parts "quote" them and ask me what do you mean and i will explain better as i know how bad i am at typing and such but surprisingly if you ask me to redo my post (polity of course) i will read through it and make it much more better and intelligent. when i redo my posts (if you ask me to) it will become much better

If you scroll down, the artist also just used statistics from internet sources.
There's no need to worry about the world right now. Japan is not dying out.

I actually do want to point out that global climate change is not something that should be taken lightly at all. While nobody is saying that the world is going to end at 2012 due to global warming, science has proven a strong connection between human activity and natural disasters such as flooding, hurricanes, droughts, etc. This is not including the loss of rainforests and the degradation of water quality due to dumping and other forms of pollution.
I would also say that scientists are accounting for human innovation considering the fact that human innovation is actually the root of many environmental and climate issue. The worrisome fact is that the general population does not see it as a problem and most likely will not see it as a problem until it is far too late to attempt to reverse the affects. Make no mistake, climate change and environmental degradation can be reversed, but it requires the initial mindset that there is a problem and that people are willing to take action to reverse it.

That being said, I think a lot of people are dedicated to seeing change in a world that may not be exactly desirable for pretty much anyone. Not only that, but we've done a LOT, even in the past five years or so, that we wouldn't have even really thought about back then, or that seemed like a pipe dream. Like, for example, cars that run solely on electricity WILL be the mainstream in our lifetimes. That's a pretty enormous step, judging by how much pollution cars can cause, and how much it would be reduced (or even completely eliminated) if everyone drove an electric car.
So, yeah, a lot of people are working on this. People like to say we don't do anything, but there's plenty we're doing, and plenty we can do in the future. And you don't need to be a scientist or have a super-high education to do it. There's lots we can do as consumers as well~
I can still edit my sig, bitches.

The take-home message is to keep everything in perspective. There are some things worth worrying about, some things we have to worry about, and some things that we just can't afford to worry about.

OP, take a long breath. Its going to be ok. I can assure you, that is just a silly simulation.
What that type of simulation does is look at current trend data and extrapolates it. That is fancy words for looking at a number at one point in time and then a short moment later looking at it again, seeing the difference, and projecting that difference over a long time.
Lets do an example like this one so you can see how silly this is. When I was born, I weighed 7 pounds. When I was 5, I was about 50 pounds. So, going off the scheme that is being used, I should be 250 pounds at the age of 25. I'm not. I weigh 150 pounds. According to this simulation, it would guess I would be 500 pounds at the age of 50.
Whats going on? This type of simulation does not look at root causes. It's only examining numbers. It has no concept of human physic , or puberty, or deiting.
When I was in junior highschool, the teacher made us do this type of simulation on China. We used a current population size VS a 1 year older populaiton size. The result told us that by 2014, China would have a population of 12 billion people. In two years from now, is China alone going to double the worlds current population? Not a chance. The populaiton growth rate has changed in a way the orginal math had no concept of.

I think it would take hundreds of years for something bad to happen... you think that hundreds of years from now people will then have to deal with it? No. Look how far we have gone in advancements with cars being more fuel efficient and even alternative sources for fuel. In a couple decades the pollution will be a fraction of what it is now.
We should be focusing on improving technology, not focusing on scaring people with this crap but not actually doing anything to help.
