Eternal youth = Worst idea ever.

You cannot live with your loved ones forever, you will see them die of old age while you stay young, it is the most painful thing to endure.

but I just thought about something-living as a human in the human village in gensokyo...you'll need to believe in gods dont you? I know some believe in the aki sisters..some in hina...some in kanako..suwako...all gods!

edit: well possiblities that sakuya will get turned into a vampire so she wouldnt die THAT fast..but like I said..having powers DOES do something to you that make you live a LOT longer than normal humans.

Well, there's eternal youth, and then there's eternal life. Just becuase you'll always stay young doesn't mean that you'll never die. It just means that you'll die young~

It's the difference between two and three tastes of the Hourai Elixir. (I, for one, will settle for just one... I have no mind to live forever or young, but that immunity to disease would come in handy!)

That's why I'd avoid conflict.
She only gets hurt 'cause she actively seeks out and tries to kill Kaguya.

Loved ones die even during a mortal's life and we still live on and eventually bounce back.
It's not like they never matter, but with an eternity to get over it, it'd stop becoming that big of a deal after a while.

Personally eye would totally go for living in Gensokyo, why? Cause it's interesting there. Can't speak their language? Devote yourself to a god let's say Kanako, give enough faith to her and who knows, you might miraculously learn japanese.

Now a question rises up, how did oneself get to Gensokyo? Did you just end up there randomly, did Yukari kidnap you, or did some portal open up for you prepare some things and go through?

Once you're there, another question, where did you end up? The "safety" of one of the shrines? The middle of the Human Village? Around the forest of magic? Eientei? On the shores of the Sanzu River? Right on top of Remilia? You can end up pretty much anywhere in Gensokyo.

But eye digress, back to the point yes eye would love to go to Gensokyo, doesn't matter where eye land cause you know why? That means something finally interesting (good interesting not bad) has happend in my cookie cutter kind of life.

Well if you wanna end up in gensokyo I think i have a few guess....
1. Spirited away, If you got spirited away you'll end up in Gensokyo... Spirited away is a phenomenon where you just walk without thinking about anything and then you'll find yourself elsewhere. Then you'll end up in Gensokyo...
2. Yukari kidnapped you. Well if SHE kidnap you of course but the reason she kidnap you is what you need. Yukari will only take someone who are rejected by present world. For example if you are hated by the entire world then you'll be taken by Yukari.
3. Go through this world Hakurei Shrine(most unlikely): But hey, if the barrier weakend you'll get through Gensokyo.
4. You are forgotten by the world: If nobody remembers you or thought you were dead, then you'll be stranded inside Gensokyo. Remember Gensokyo is also a place where the forgotten be remembered and the lost be found...
5. You got lost and found yourself in Gensokyo. If the barrier weakened of course.

Oh and I see there's a few people talking abou immortality and Kaguya and Mokou... Well since Mokou is one of my favourite i Thought I'll butt in for a bit.
Well you see Kaguya and Mokou are both immortal. And In my Opinion, it was not healthy... Immortality means you have limitless time.. and what does a human need to get everything they want?? Time... If a human or a living creature get Immortality or in other words, limitless time... The world will lose it color. You can get anything, everything and get bored with it. And then the rest was just to plunge into madness... I myself want to live long but only until 500 more or less. 5 centuries was enough times to be with tho one you love... I think... Well as long as I can still die it wont matter...
