I just played the Arcade version (taito type x ) on my pc after having pc version for few months

I love the new characters , and the difficulty seems a bit harder , not having to adjust barrier size also I find comfortable

I think I"ll be switching to play Arcade version from now on

Which version do you prefer ?

I'm leading towards Trouble Witches NEO! on XBLA since you get 8 playable characters (plus Luca for 160 MS Points), a Boss Attack and Score Attack mode, leaderboards and actual co-op (both local and online), and really it's more-or-less a port of the arcade version. But what irritates me about NEO! aside from the horrendous English dubs and translations is the fact that Sies from the original PC was axed from playability (and why couldn't they put her back with this bunch of Engrish-speaking magical girls? It would of been Castle of Shikigami III for horizontal shooters plus Castle Shikigami 2's incoherent quality of Engrish), no card-swapping and we get these useless preset voices like "Pril! Look out!" and "Hello!" (inb4 Navi from Ocarina of TIme plays this game; that Y button is felling lonely right about now), probably worst of all taking the Practice mode entirely out of the game (seriously, what the f*@%, Studio SiestA?).

I really wish people start their complaining to Studio SiestA and get them to update the game with Practice Mode, card-swapping, and Sies back.

Hmm, since I dont have access to Neo version , I "ve been playing the AC Taito Type X version , and recently found out that 2 more characters can be unlocked from the service menu. The game is pretty addictive as usual , only complaint is that I wasnt able to find how to slow move , has it been removed from arcade version or what

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the slow movement happens when you set up your barrier. I haven't played the original PC or Arcade version of Trouble Witches Episode 1 in a long while.

Three months and no updates still? I hope Studio SiestA's is busy working on TW2 instead of slow disappearing into the Shadow Realm like Isemiya from [erka:es].

Apparently Trouble Witches NEO! is now 400 MS Points / $5 USD (Luca DLC is still full price), but for how long...? Maybe now I can review it. Wished I could use my brother's PC right now... [/wii]

-EDIT-
The is on sale and tomorrow's the sale's last day!

-EDIT 2-
LOVE IS OVER! Game's back at full price!

Looks like Studio SiestA updated their site with a novel of sorts to Episode 2 that looks like a precursor to it's storyline named Episode 1.95. All of which is entirely Japanese.

Trying to discern wth they are talking about, doesn't make sense to me so far...

Also, Madoka clone too much? (Character on the left, first page)

I lost all respect for these people after hearing the english dub shoved to the XBLA version and, hopefully, not present in the arcade or PC versions. If Death Smiles version with accents was bad enough, this one takes the cake next to Mobile Light Force.

The title of this episode is "O-Hime-sama no Panbana". O-himesama is obviously a princess.

I see pantsu in the last page, I mean, it really can't be Shakespeare level of japanese after all, heh. I think I now know where that weird "Panbana" word in katakana comes from...

Yes, the crazy panties of the princess or something like that. Go figure.

Still too complex for me, even as vulgar as it looks. Apologies, guys, I need moar nihongo. The background doesn't really help with readability either... I'm also getting chills if those are actually men underwear given Japan's recent crosdressing trend. The joke. The troll. IN OUR HEADS.

Wouldn't be surprised if one of the characters is a boy.

Glad I'm not the only who thinks that this game sits with Shikigami no Shiro (namely the second one on PlayStation 2) in terms of terrible English localization. And with what I'm seeing with Otomedius Excellent, it seems that Japan is starting to give less of a shit about decent Japanese-to-English localization. What also bothers me in the XBLA of Trouble Witches Episode 1 is that they cookie-cut a lot of places in that version in terms of story and narrative (Pril, Aqua, and Yuki are prime examples of this). First Triggerheart Exelica does this by completely removing any-and-all relevance to the storyline (and add insult to injury buy adding the story back into the Japanese only PS2 version with even more content later), so Studio SiestA is deciding to play follow the leader? If I ever hand any hand in the XBLA version, I would damn well ensure quality in the release than what Studio SiestA and SNK Playmore has done. I want my Sies and Practice Modo back!!

Also, the English is available in the XBLA version of Trouble Witches AC since they included that with NEO!, although it's more-or-less the same game as NEO! but in 4:3 aspect ratio but not even bring back the old 2D background and uses the 3D ones instead. Thankfully the option of Japanese is still available.

Bumping cars because while on the subject of Studio SiestA and English, they tried to make their own "English" version of the PC version of Trouble Witches Episode 1, which would of been more-or-less an English version of AC had been released on PC instead of arcades, under the title of "The Tomboyish Witches ~With Amalgam's Cutie Girls~". And the page for Tomboyish Witches and AC still exists within the original PC version's homepage.

I'd better make a review of the XBLA version and let them know where they fucked up (hopefully) a la` Egoraptor's Sequelitis.
