I've played GG a lot more than BB, and I still much prefer it. GG is certainly more hardcore with the timings and speed, but unfortunately, it just wouldn't work online with these factors. The characters and music is also a lot more appealing to me. Also, the fact that it's 4:3. I've always loved the mechanics, too.
Guilty Gear is definitely the better game, but BlazBlue is more convenient. In my opinion.

GG had some of the most exciting BGMs ever, I know it has almost shitty combo system compared to BB but I still dig it, story-wise and character-background wise. Gameplay? They're a draw.

I'd give the crown to GG. I found the gameplay to be somewhat easier to pick up, surprisingly. The music, character designs, story, and overall feel were also better and more interesting, in my opinion. For some strange reason, I felt more freedom of movement in GG as opposed to BB.

In gameplay sense, GG is better than BB.. BB is just tad slow.

I'm just gonna put this out there....
i think guilty gear XX accent core + is the best damn fighter ever IMO
And personally blazblue is just alright for me, but nowhere near the depth of guilty gear.
To be frank I would be MORE THAN happy to see the Blazblue franchise die in return for a new guilty gear.
