Why is that? He was at least attempting to get actors who resembled the characters and even produced backgrounds based on stages from the game?

Fun fact: Alisa's voiced by Cristina Vee. Her Noel Vermillion has a big panda fetish. ^^

Saw the movie tonight. It wasn't so bad. While not cannon to the original storyline (if there ever was a "story"), it feels more like a homage to the series as a whole.

I say it's a homage because it shows everything fans love in the series, especially with the characters. I like how Xiaoyu was portrayed here. She has way more spunkiness and attitude than the game's version (which I think was fun, but as the games went on, she was pretty...needless) while still being a fun character. Ganryu and Lee Chaolan is there too, still being the comic relief that they are. xD

Though the final fight had a lot of transitions from "cliche anime line" this and "cliche drama line" that. Even worse is Devil Jin saying to Xiaoyu, of all people, that she may defeat him one day. My facepalm was more epic than that bull****. lol

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 seems to to put her in a pretty important spot too from what we've seen from Prologue. Which is rare since she's not a Mishima/Jin. I mean, since when the story was NOT about these guys?

Buying Tekken Hybrid day one. Mostly for Tag Tournament HD and Tag Tournament 2 Prologue but this looks really damn sweet too.

Ya, me too. I mean, the movie's worth watching again, so long as you take into account that Xiaoyu can never be an important factor to the cannon. I get where Sato's going with the whole "Xaio being the main character" and all. If only she developed that much before.

I do want the new Devil Form designs to stay. It's funny how Kazuya didn't to account that "maybe" the Kazama blood is disorientating Jin's Devil Gene. Still, it was quite the payoff after all the times Jin was possessed.

I wish this movie tied into the games more... and I like just about all of the characters a lot more than I like them in the games. Xiaoyu has been my favorite for years so I was elated to see her with such a main role, and her personality and actions in the movie were a lot more interesting than anything she's done in the games for a while (or ever really... though I still love her in Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag). I wish they would continue what they did with this movie and carry it all over into future games. Or just give up having any sort of coherent storyline at all because this half-story BS they keep trying to throw out is getting more and more ridiculous to me... even though BV isn't the BEST story ever, it's still a whole lot better than the "explanations" they try to throw out for the games, the plotholes keep getting bigger and more plentiful.
