There are two types of people in this world. Those that group everyone else as binary and those that don't.

Ah, okay that's good. You mean you have an Ibara PCB dump or the PS2 iso?

Nothing yet can run the SH3. We'll have to wait for Demul 5.7 to come out.

Btw after trying Gigawing2 on Demul 0.5.6 I realized that my PC wouldn't enough to emulate these games ;_;

This is just like the doujin scene where probably 95% of non Japanese Touhou fans havnt spent a penny on the real games. While this doesnt really affect ZUN who is just making the games for lols and beer money. Cave are different due to the fact they need to make a profit for all the time and money theyve spent in creating such beautifull and expertly ballanced niche games.
Thats why I have so much respect for the Mame devs, they put in the work to make sure the older games are saved for prosperity, but they leave the newer titles alone so they dont harm the developers. Those demul guys should act a bit more like them. Hopefully all this emulation business doesnt harm the chances of there been a 360 mushihimasama remake

To be honest, mate, I don't think it'll make a blind bit of difference to Cave. The emulation scene is pretty niche in the big picture of things because - as i've found out to my cost in the past - PC emulation is great but it'll never improve on the real thing. When i think of all the consoles i sold because the emulation was good, i wish i had them all back now.
From a personal, probably selfish, point-of-view I would love to play these games in Demul because i can't justify the expense of a second 360 just to play shmups - most of which are mega-expensive themselves.
From recent comments I read i think the Cave people themselves are thinking it maybe wasn't a great idea to region lock their games. I certainly would have shelled out for them if i could have played them on my PAL machine. (I will be picking up the region-free ones at some point)
You're probably right about the doujin shmup scene because all games are played on one format so it makes little difference whether you have an original or a copy. This, naturally, is refelected by the decreasing number of shmups that appear every Comiket.

The ports aren't the 'real thing' either. In fact, many of them are very inaccurate, some to the point where the better experience will be had on demul, but that hasn't stopped people from buying them. The majority isn't going to shy away from something just because it doesn't improve on or match up with the real thing, especially if it's at no cost to them.
Also, it doesn't matter whether PC emulation is niche in the big picture of things because it certainly isn't niche within the STG community: Think about how prolific the usage of MAME is, or how often we pirate doujin games. And furthermore, most of CAVE's 360 ports don't breach 20,000 retail sales. So if demul is released and CAVE puts out another port, even a small number of people (i.e., 1000 or 2000) choosing not to buy it, because it's available on demul, is going to be a significant loss.

Then again, YT and 'OMG HARDEST BOSS EVER' videos do an okay job of that. But you're not actually playing them...and many seeing those vids are likely not to ever give it a chance unless shown something first personally.
Case in point, AH3 leaked. I liked. Now look at my signature.

I can imagine if all of Caves games where emulated 6 months ago I would of stuck to been solely a PC gamer rather then finally deciding to take the (PAL) 360 plunge and buy the 3 region free imports plus DeathSmiles. It still sucks that I cant play the regoin locked titles and wait in hope that they become available to me in the future. Although I am thinking about possibly buying DFK & DFK BL since they are discounted and buying a 2nd hand fat 360 to JTAG.
@Aisha' yeah youre right the console ports vairy in how accurate they are to the arcade original, which means mame is sometimes the better version especially for the 5pB and ps2 ports. Thats why I would of welcomed the ps2 era games to be emulated since Cave arnt making money on them. However the recent release of Mushimisama blue label (or whatever its called) means cave might still have plans for Mushimisama on 360.
What really makes the console ports shine is all the extra modes they have which can be better then the arcade original. Im not too keen on how Cave limit some really cool stuff to preorders, especially for MMP & PS which have no other modes and the DLC is rumoured to be better then the main content, And somebody on shmups forum has bought up aload of the DLC codes so he can hike up the price
@Kennyrh, I disagre, For example you say you plan on picking up the region free titles in the future. I mean no bad will by saying this but would you really buy them if you could play the arcade emulation? I imagine that buying the games must be rather low on your prioities since the 2 of them are budget titles and that by and large you are happy just to play DS and whats already on Mame and use your money to buy other things. Im in the same boat with Crison Clover, I would of been happy to of imported the game but now I have a dodgy copy I havnt done so. And even though I plan on buying the real version at some point I deep down wonder if ill ever do so.
Btw, since you already have a 360, Ild recomend you take the plunge on Futari and Esp Galuda 2 they are both only £25 and the stocks wont last forever. Ild imagine that Futari is already close to going out of print as its always back ordered on play asia nowadays.

Anyway, I think it would be interesting to see how well Guwange has sold on XBLA. It has been in MAME since forever and has therefore received all of the exposure that emulation can provide. It is only my speculation, but I don't think it met CAVE's expectations for a world-wide digital release. This is because Dangun Feveron was ported by M2 and was originally planned to be released on XBLA, but that was contingent on how well Guwange sold. We haven't seen the game yet, and recently CAVE came out and said they were no longer sure on the platform. So what does that say about how well the MAME-backed Guwange port sold? The game even had some promotion here and there, and yet here we still have this situation with Dangun Feveron.

I have only one question . . .£25
Also going back to the original discussion - how faithful are the MAME/Demul emulations compared to the 360 versions or, indeed, the original games ??
