I'm starting to find that more people I talk to on here have fewer and fewer ideas about what they're going to do with their lives anymore. It may be the locales I talk to. It might be the economy. It might be a lot of things. But I'd rather wonder what people are actually going to do these days for themselves.

I actually think I'm kind of behind, to be honest. I did get moving on what I wanted to do in terms of career choice and at least got a decent professional job going at my age (finally) but I'm still lacking certifications, proper total experience and I still don't have even an Associate's of anything yet. These are things I'd like to take care of by the time I'm 30 and I'm moving along at a steady pace at this point...but at my wage and other things that I have to take care of, it takes a while.

I just wondered if anyone else has an idea or if anyone's in 'standby' for the most part. I mean I used to be in that boat until I was quite literally kicked out when I was 21, so I know where that aspect is as well. I'm just wondering if anyone has similar aspirations or ones better than myself I might rub shoulders with.

My interest of life was wide as a kid. True. But it keep decreasing as I know more about that fantasy life. Ignorance is a real bliss I say.

Now I'm still wondering what I'm going to do. My interest is drawing, game making and such. And I live in a small area where such interest won't get me far unless I started moving.
Then I question myself. "Am I really interested enough to bother moving?"

Well I think it's awful in every sense if someone doesn't have a plan what to do with their life. I for myself got a shit load of targets and chances are I'm not going to reach all of them in my life unless I get superhuman or live about 300 years. Chances are the possibility for that is rather small. Still better than being on standby though.

Career is the smallest thing actually. I plan to get sophisticated in games/application programming, webdesign, microcontroller design, art (drawing and music) and (physics) science. Each of them worth a full job, so yeah, I gotta work really hard. As long as I don't have to waste my time on school I have higher chances of doing this because school got a shit load of full months wasted on literaly nothing. I learned in one week self study what I haven't learned in 3 years of school, school sucks here and I feel like people have stolen me several years of my life, getting money stolen is nothing compared to this. Without school I also would've long ago finished my first projects.

Apart from that (what actually is harder) I want to achieve things for the planet, because humans know how to rape this planet everyday, and they make good use of that knowledge. Just the fact we're about 7 billion people is horrendous, and scientists will tell us always there is enough space for more, probably until the day we finally turn this planet to a baren piece of dust. So anything I could do to preserve at least a bit of this planet would be fine with me. Also I'd like to change the fact nearly everyone is crazed about stupid money, chances are though, I won't be able to change this at all. Moral is not present to a satisfying amount either.
Too much people told me to settle down, get a family (fuck around because we need more people), and be part of this planets destruction because I can't change anything, partialy because they think I couldn't handle the pressure just because they themself break down on any small thing. No. When life means being like that, I literaly prefer death.

At least I have a path I want to walk.

I've been pondering this question for the last few days since I'm about to finish my second semester of junior college. Everyone wants me to get a job and I'd like to get one to help pay for groceries & etc. However, we only have one car at my house so it is very difficult to time schedules and I don't want to overburden my mom. Unfortunately, if I decide to stay home for the summer, I'll be nagged at. >_>

Otherwise, I want to spend my life working on my creative projects and challenging myself to do better. I also want to travel when I'm a bit older.

No one knows what life has in store for them, but I agree that it doesn't hurt to at least get a rough sketch for things like this. As for me, I plan to graduate from college with a BA degree and then enlisting in the military for some time. Not the most glamorous of ideas but it'll help me get a start and it will help me to get away from my folks and be more independent. Once that's done with, I'll try for either a TESOL degree and head to Japan(though I'd honestly rather not go this route) or try to pick up some translation jobs or full-time job at walmart or something and do freelance drawing on the side. Maybe try to start up commissions or something once my art gets better. As for where I'll live, not sure yet, but Hawaii, Cali, and Vancouver or Toronto are all possibilities. Yeah, I don't plan on having a major career or being famous with my work or anything, I just want to be able to live and provide for myself in relative comfort. Not much I know, but that's the route I plan on taking at the moment.

Double everything. EVERYTHING. Most importantly twice as much AP per level, which is so ridiculously broken that it basically makes you reluctant to train any time there isn't double-rainbow for fear that you'll be too high-leveled to benefit when there is one.

i'm currently at University studying Illustration. I decided to do this because I wanna illustrate and possibly publish my own children's books.
I did wanna be a doctor but being resilient to those kind of things was never my strong point, so i decided to take my talent and consider what i'd think is the best way to use it for helping others and this was the best route, i think.

I don't know exactly. I'd kind of like to be a teacher someday, since I like children (I babysat a lot a few years back). If that doesn't work out... well, I do enjoy writing and I have a ~65k word story all fully written, but it hasn't been edited. I really enjoy writing and if this book ever sees the light of day and by some miracle becomes a hit, maybe I can take that career path.

I can still edit my sig, bitches.

Honestly don't know, mostly due to paranoia/complete indecivieness I'm pretty much scared to pick a major/life focus and stick with it assuming it will all go to hell at some point. Right now it's revolving around graphic design, animation, computer science or chemistry.

Currently I'm leaning towards computer science but that can easily change. Personally fame/fortune/Prestigious Career is a tad over what I want to handle on a to day life.

Hopefully medical school, then become a practicing doctor. That would be awesome.

I want to make stuff with bacteria and then teach a bunch of kids how to do the same.

(i.e. grad school --> post-doc -->-->--> professorship, etc. within the field of synthetic biology.)

So I made a tumblr dream log for a friend of mine, but then I realized that all I dream about is nerdy stuff. BUT THAT'S NORMAL FOR DOUJINSTYLE SO YOU SHOULD HAVE A READ

The only thing I should be doing at my age, trying to get into College, I have nothing to look forward too, not like I'm gonna get into College or anything, as much as I wanted to. No Space Needle for me, think my life is already over.

My dad got a haircut today. I told him not to! Now it's even harder to tie a bow in his hair! He said he asked the person giving the haircut to just cut his hair a little, but she ended up cutting it much more than he wanted her to. Ugh, women can't do anything right. They really should stay in the kitchen.

Damn. Good luck and have fun with that. I know a couple PHD candidates and they all tell me that the 5 weeks before defense is complete hell.

I've seen a fair amount of that with the grad students in my lab this past semester. They all passed their quals, though, so I'm sure I'll be OK. Probably...

It's still probably not as bad as med school.

Actually, this has been on my mind a lot. I'm sort of afraid of growing up. (Granted, I already have technically grown up, but I'm about to be done with college too!)

I'm one class shy of a full computer science degree, so I feel as if I should at least find a job to support myself while I go to college for my last class... after that, it's time to decide what I want to do with my computer science degree.

It's always been sort of a pipe dream of mine to code games, but I've heard some negative things about the industry, so I'm more inclined to do it has a hobby instead of a lively-hood. I hear web-programming jobs pay well, and I studied that pretty extensively last semester (much, much more than HTML).

But really what I want the most is to have someone to spend my life with. =/ It's been bothering me for quite some time... I guess I just have this fear of dying alone.

I guess it doesn't really matter to me that much what I do with my life... as long as I can make a living and I'm with people that love me...
