A 2D girl can't reject you. That's the main reason. A manifestation of your mind won't tell you "no thanks, I'm not interested in you". Not even tsundere (because, don't forget the dere part: tsundere are still interested in you, they're just trying to hide it).

3D girls, aka human beings, won't submit to your every will. Haven't you ever rejected somebody yourself in some way? Does that make you a "disgusting 3D bitch"? (I consider the word "bitch" somewhat gender neutral) The term "3D girl" makes me sick because you're treating them the same as fictional characters, like they're just puppets designed to destroy your feelings, like their only role is to be a part of your life alone.

It's because of the negative experiences many men have had with women in the past; rejection, a broken heart, a crush gone wrong, that we generalize every real woman as someone who's rude, isn't devoted and hates you.

People have moods. 2D characters in your imagination will probably always have this programmed behavior so that they'll act the same, day in day out, as loveable as always. Well, humans are never like that. Are you equally happy every day, dancing around, speaking with the same tone of voice, always in the mood to devote your entire day to your partner? Do you want the girl to center around you? It probably isn't gonna happen. The same way you often need space from other people, in a solitary environment, to play video games for example. Or you know, to use the bathroom.

Loving someone means that you accept them, even at their worst, because regardless how they act, they're still who they are. Only loving one side of someone is very superficial. It's the same as only liking somebody for their looks.

IIRC a "waifu" is a fictional character you prefer over any other girl, fictional or not, and you're devoted to them, seeing them as your partner. Patchouli is a character who has traits that I would find most attractive in a woman, such as intelligence, but I don't have imaginary dates with her or anything. She's a concept. Not a person.

It's just that I'm annoyed when there's a story of a girl rejecting a guy, she's always called a bitch. So you want her to accept the proposal of a guy who she's only known for a year and get into a hasty marriage? Is that the morally right thing of her to do? I don't think so. Forcing someone to go against their feelings, that's something far more questionable. It's worse that proposals are often complete surprises, and the other most often isn't prepared for it, but they accept it because they don't wanna be asses or have the relationship completely fall apart. And that's why marriage usually fails.
We become what we do. Don't be disquieted in times of adversity. Be firm with dignity and self-reliant with vigor.

If you know you're about to make a mistake, don't do it. Of course, it's a hard choice to swallow your pride and let it go when someone spits in your face. Believe me, I know... but if you walk away and they're the ones who spit last, who looks guilty? Them, or you?

On a more serious note:

I have a waifu, and I'm not pursuing love. I met an amazing girl who I got to know over the course of two years, and I fell for her, to no avail. There was nobody quite like her. She was beautiful, both inside and outside. She was into 80s-90s shoujo anime, Dance Dance Revolution, Fire Emblem, and art, among other things. It would seem that I would've ended up with her if I'd taken action sooner. There was nobody quite like this girl I fell in love with. She was one of the few of my type that had good taste, and she was very supportive through my times of difficulty. I have yet to meet someone else like her. My waifu gives me something to look forward to, and helps me keep my morale up. At night, when I'm in bed, I always sleep with a pillow in my arms.

The name of the girl I loved is Angel (She really was an angel to me). My waifu is Kanade Tachibana, from Angel Beats!, my favorite anime, in which she was referred to as "Angel" for most of the first half of the series. I guess Kanade's angelic nature brings me back to those days I spent with Angel.

My waifu is my guardian angel, watching over me, and it reassures me to see her smiling face, even if it's 2D:

This is one reason I like "drawn chicks". Moe is all well and good, and it makes me happy. But there's also ultimate beauty in 2D girls that can be uplifting for the soul.

Huh. I guess to sum up the whole "waifu" bit, I'd recommend that everyone have a look at the escapism discussion. From what people seem to be saying in defense of the "2Ds are better than 3Ds" argument, it seems like the perception of so-called "2Ds" falls squarely in the realm of escapism. And as always, escapism taken too far is never a good thing.

So I made a tumblr dream log for a friend of mine, but then I realized that all I dream about is nerdy stuff. BUT THAT'S NORMAL FOR DOUJINSTYLE SO YOU SHOULD HAVE A READ

2D girls are often shiny. With their shiny flawless skin and whatnot.
People like shiny things. (Hence the rise of glossy plastic on every electronic device as of late)

Windows are the eyes to the soul.
2D girls have HUGE windows.

Oh, and their eyes are shiny.

luls. It's all about the shiny.

For me I like what I like. And while i don't yearn for 2D women over 3D women i cannot deny that this shit is radical yo.

Ah yes, that tired old video. There still is a world of difference between "jacking off" over a 2D image and getting yourself into the delusion that you're in a relationship with a fictional entity.

One of the few situations in life for which I can definitively state that jacking off is the better option.

Just jacking off might even be the better option if you like only 3D chicks. Girlfriends are expensive.

Might sound rude but if you get yourself a girlfriend that only stays with you due to your money and what you spend on her... well that's your own fault. I have a happy relationship and besides the travel fees once in a time due to us living not exactly close to each other I barely paid anything for her, unless we consensually bought something for the both of us. Girlfriends are only expensive if you get yourself a greedy bitch that loves your money and not you. And at least in my opinion that's not how any relationship should look like. As far as I have heard and seen it that's a bad trait that is indeed mostly shared throughout females. But don't get me wrong there, males just have their bad points in other places, I don't consider any gender to be superior to another.

It's the same reason anyone would feel anything towards a real girl in a picture; you find "her" attractive because she is somewhat fitting to your mental image of what you'd want a girl to be like. As for people who freak over others getting off to 2D stuff: you'd probably never meet the girl anyway so why would it matter?
I'm into real girls myself but I still like the appearance of anime girls or whatever. Most anime-related drawings are very joyful and happy, so often you feel lighter looking at it. Some drawings are very sexual so they explain themselves. I draw myself and aim to become a graphic designer of some sort, so I might just be fancying the art style. ;)
