This isn't new, but nobody made a thread about this game, so I will.
Basically, this is a Touhou fangame that plays slightly similar to Sengoku Rance. Now I am horrible at describing games, so I will just link to the Touhou wiki article on the game.

Basically, you start out with just Reimu, Marisa, and a few generic characters. However you have to attack the other factions of Gensokyo, and capture other Touhou characters. The battle system is vaguely similar to Sengoku Rance, but slightly different since you have to keep track of unit "distances". That is better explained in the wiki.

Really, this game feels like a slightly watered down version of Sengoku Rance, cept with Touhou characters and no H. However it has great music, and CGs that make great desktop wallpaper (And they all look like they were done by different artists). Here is a pic of the battle screen:

The game is in Japanese with no english patch, but you can get past most of the dialog in the game just by holding down the spacebar.

And I am most certainly not making this thread to drum up interest in it in the hopes that it will eventually get translated.

I'd be all over this game if it wasn't for the distance thing... I can't seem to make sense of all of the Japanese... So I'm taking Japanese classes as of September!

Nice, I would be taking them right now (just starting) if a certain family member didn't blow all my excess cash.. ARRGH.

Seriously though, I want to learn Japanese so I can make moar translation patches myself without bugging Deranged to help me >=)

It says 99% done. Just the option screen isn't translated.

1. read the pooshlmer thread.
2.it needs fucking 20 patches from 7 links. tricky procedure for lazy ppl.
2.5 needs to be run in Japanese regional language settings. you DO know how to do this by now right?
3. it has awesmoe storyline.

I already have all the patches, and already using AppLocale (it changes the error from an unreadable one to one that's partially readable).

The pooshlmer thread doesn't appear to say anything about the particular error I'm getting, so I posted it there (at the time of posting this, it is the last post in the thread)

Edit: Ok, it's working. Turns out the AppLocale shortcuts were bad. Don't know why that would cause that particular error, though.

Hmmm I wish there was some kind of animation in battles but a decent game nonetheless.

Considering that it's based off of Sengoku Rance, it's surprising that it had less animation. Again, doesn't make it less fun.

I've been busting out a lot of work lately snazzing up the Sengoku Gensokyo article on the NEW Touhou Wiki. It's just about complete, so feel free to use it, contribute, or correct things to your heart's desire.

Grilleds, if you wouldn't mind changing the wiki link in the first page, the Touhou Wiki community and I would be incredibly greatful. (Wikia is being a big bag of dicks to us lately)

Question: I saw some "th105" files in the MF link. I am slightly confused as to whether or not they go with the four-part Sengoku Gensokyo, so I'd like to know if I need to download those as well.

oh, ok, but out of curiousity, what DO they go to?

Also, I got an error saying the packed data CRC failed in Gensokyo.iso, and the file is corrupt. Am I missing something on my computer, or what did I do wrong?

I would imagine they go to a download for Touhou 10.5.

And I have no idea about that error. Sorry.
