The girl I am currently dating is planning to move to a city like 50 miles away.

Well, keep dating if it's possible? Although I know it's harder with a lot less chances to be together, but if you both want it then it can still work.

50 miles isn't that far. Especially now with things like Skype. Any friends with cars or anything? Public transit? You shouldn't lose a relationship over such a small distance.

Still it depends on a lot of stuff. Sometimes 50 miles is enough for it to be impossible for a couple to see each other except for the weekends, when maybe before it they were together everyday. Of course even this is a change that can work, but still can be a pain to get used to it.

Me, myself? I've given up on finding a girl. My interests and hobbies are to weird and to spread out( I don't know many other guys who like to game, bulid/paint models, work on cars, go to the firing range, build things, watch anime, collect figures). Oh and not mention I love to drink, and I still cant give up smoking. The only relationship I had din't work out because, like usual, she thought because I was a lonely guy I could be pushed around and buy things she wanted.

But hell, I'm a handyman, I'm a millitary man(Even if its only part time), I have my own place, a car, and a (sort of) stable job.

But oh well. Looks like 2D waifus for me.

Ah good news she's is moving away in a year now, so this gives me more time to decide whether I want to keep it up with this chick or just call it a day and roll out. We are at this point where we don't know whats going on right now though (Both phones shut-off, her busy schedule/her "me" time lurking in her house playing assassins creed, and her not logging onto facebook... its a bit difficult to hang out right now lol)

All I know right now,
is that she's awesome to talk to and has a interesting brain in her skull
A little crazy... Passionate about subjects.

and a damn good cook

We live in a the mountainous region, I'd say its "call of the wild-ish", so its a bit harder. We've been dating a short while, so when she said she was gonna move I was like "FUUU-- THAT WENT MY CHANCE" in my brain. But yeah thankfully the move will come like 360 something days from now. So that gives me a chance to keep this going and not force me to "euthanize the newborn puppy" if you will.

If I had to give you some advice, I'd say don't "give up on it" and instead replace it with a "Come whoever may,... AS LONG AS THAT WHOEVER IS COOL. IF NOT I WILL BE FINE" when it comes to women and then take it from there.

Or not, its up to you really.

Just saying that the majority of girls don't like this. They want the male to make the moves, to be their prince and wear the pants. Of course it's not all that counts and it can go wrong, but believe me, you lose nothing compared to the eternal ages of I WONDER IF SHE REALLY LIKES ME doubt.
You can be a "nice guy" and seriously, although there is a lot of BAW NICE GUYS FINISH LAST FOREVER ALONE ETC in the world, that's mostly just the shy guys. I think one just needs to build a bit of character and lose at least a bit of the social awkwardness if one might call it that. I know, I've been there.

Anyway my favorite part was the very first paragraph. Even with my current relationship going perfectly well, probably the only times it ended in an argument (rage modo) is because I, since I am a male, say what I feel and that for me is logical. While girls most of the time WANT YOU to know what they're thinking without saying anything, and SOMETIMES the expectations for that are a bit too high. I'm sorry I'm not cheesy-movie-like romantic!

Guys, guys, stop with this "most girls x" bullshit. As I'm sure any one of the ladies on this forum will tell you, stereotypes like that are rarely, if ever, justified. I'm starting to think that half of the relationship issues in this world stem from one sex stereotyping the other sex's wants and needs.

Being in a relationship means understanding what one person wants, not what half of the world wants. There are 23 pairs of chromosomes in each human cell. It would be silly to get caught up in only one of them.
