Just wanted to say the English Patch for Acceleration of Suguri is not the English Patch for the game, but is the English Patch for the original Suguri.

gundemonium/gundeadligne/hitogata happa is another grey area, because of the psn bundle, but the originals are probably still considered doujin.

This is possibly one of the most over-looked free SHMUPS, in a complete quality to that exceeding Touhou. It has RPG elements (Shops, specifically), and it even has voice actors, as seen at 8:40 of the boss battle.
Speaking of Touhou, it's largely inspired by it and plays almost exactly like it. It even has the auto-collect system when you move to the top.
