Air Rade + Summer

Apocalypse DEUS EX MACHINA

A basement colony "Agnoshia". People living there are controlled by the machine "Arcon". Rishe's father is a scientist and his will says there is something sleeping in "Taltaros". She heads for it and finds Ash, being cold slept, and resuscitates him. "Arcon" attacks Ash but he beats it easily.... From its debris, an image appears. It says her name is Sakura and tells them to come to the top floor of "Agnoshia". Ash and Rishe decide to go there....

Smash TV arena style shooter where you have guns and close range weapons. Use points to power up weapons between levels. Includes survival mode, where you must clear a certain amount of enemies per round.

DAN! DA! DAN!

Dan! Da! Dan! is quite an unique shmup, since, instead of enemies, you take on a bunch of blocks, that you have to destroy in oder to get through. Some of this blocks have special effects when destroyed, or will shoot at you as you come closer. This may sound like an esay game but the screen can get crowded quite quickly. Luckily, you can easily tell where your hitbox is: is the red ball of the middle of the ship.
There is no shot upgrades in this game, you can however, temporally gain hyper mode, which improves your shot for a limited amount of time. But often enough to clear the screen. You can also gain levels.
Boss fights give you a break from the block breaking since they take place in an open area, but they are too short, a few nanoseconds of hyper mode will get you through the first boss.

Engage to Jabberwock

EtJ is an excellent arena-shooter, combining the perspective of something Zelda-like with that of shoot’em ups. You’re a small guy running around in some sort of dungeon. If all enemies in one screen are killed, you get one of many items, health or mana refresher, or some others. There are also 4 bosses (who can be quite challenging) and a final boss fight (very challenging). Those can only be fought after you’ve got certain items.
EtJ has a nifty system where you can open and close different colored doors by shooting at spheres spread over the dungeon. Every time you shoot at one of these spheres, all doors of one color get opened and the doors with another color get closed. You can maximal have three of four colors open, one is always closed. In effect you change the whole topology of the dungeon every time you change a color, which adds a nice puzzle element to the game, since some areas can only be entered after opening/closing differently colored doors several times.

A great shooter where you can change your option style on the fly, from gatling to ranged to lock-on. Changes perspective from vertical to horizontal like Philosoma, and uses tons of polygon enemies like Einhander. Awesome game!

Ikaruga clone! Plays great with manic bullet patterns and a dual character first boss fight.
this is a remake of Exceed 2nd Vampire, much better this time around. More intense patterns, plus the ability to chain absorbed bullets for a bonus.

Feather Raid

Feather Raid is an excellent shooter featuring a power-up system much like the one employed by Konami's Gradius series. There are no lives but your character is able to take several hits, indicated by the HP gauge shown at the bottom of the screen. Your HP can be increased by completing levels and gaining experience points.
Hold down the Z key to shoot and press the X key to activate a power-up. Tap the left shift to launch the cyclone attack, although it requires a recharge after each use.

Great production from Omegalev, plays like ChoRenSha meets DoDonPachi. Very textbook, you have a wide shot type and a narrow shot while slowing the ship down. Set the difficulty to "SP" mode for a boss rush.

Gunners Heart is a 3D shooting game. The graphics are very nice, and there are some great Anime characters in here. You can choose from different types of ships to play as, and the level design is really good. There is also a shop in which you can upgrade your ship. You may also challenge the computer at a high score if you wish. This game is deep and very fun to play, and anyone who enjoys flying / shooting games should enjoy this.

Homura - Dan is a vertical scrolling shooter. It's a fairly standard shooter with low resolution but nice graphics.
Homura - Dan is your standard shooter, move with the arrow keys, shoot normal bullets with Z, shoot homing missiles with X, press both Z and X to shoot a laser. There's an energy bar at the left bottom corner of the screen, both the missiles and the laser draw energy from it, but it refills with time.

In a break from previous games, in Mof collecting power-ups can increase the number of "options" around your character, up to four, and using a bomb sacrifices one of these options. Scoring is based around a "Faith" value, which is increased by collecting Faith items.

Autumn has come to the secluded land of Gensokyo, and to its only shrine, the Hakurei Shrine, a common meeting place for its youkai that was seldom visited by its humans. As a result, faith in the Hakurei Shrine's deity began to fall like the leaves from the trees. It's in such a season that Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of the Hakurei shrine, is visited by a mysterious stranger who claims to represent a god of mountains and orders her to shut the shrine's doors for good. Reimu is deeply troubled by this state of affairs, as she knows the shrine can't be allowed to close down due to the role it plays in watching over the Great Hakurei Border that separates Gensokyo from the outside world. Marisa Kirisame, her magician friend, is suspicious and also suitably bored. The girls decide to ascend the Youkai Mountain to confront the mysterious deity behind the threats.

Ignoring the lesser gods and the kappa's advices to turn back, Reimu and Marisa climb the Youkai Mountain to find that the tengu society fretting over the presence of a new shrine on the mountain. Turning their attention to the new shrine, the Moriya Shrine on the mountain, the girls find Sanae Kotiya, the messenger who ordered them to shut down the Hakurei Shrine. Sanae is the priestess serving the god Kanako Yasaka, who plots to gather the faith of all of Gensokyo's denizens in order to prevent the declining level of faith in Gensokyo to reach the point where its gods lose their power. Reimu, objecting the plan on the basis that it will render her shrine obsolete, battle the occupants of the new shrine. After a protracted battle, Kanako is convinced to make peace with the tengu and kappa, who are also convinced to accept her as the goddess of the Youkai Mountain.

Perfect Cherry Blossom (Japanese: "Touhou Youyoumu") is the seventh game in the Touhou series of manic shoot 'em ups, and is probably the best known. Like its predecessor, the game has two firing modes and gives the player a limited supply of Spell Card "bombs." However, PCB introduces "Cherry Points," which are earned by shooting enemies and lost by using bombs or dying. The more Cherry Points you have, the more points you gain from point items, and at a certain level you receive a shield. PCB also displays your hitbox when you are in focused-fire mode, another innovation on the previous game.

There are 3 playable characters to choose from, each with their own unique strengths and Spell Cards. The game features 6 stages and 2 unlockable secret stages.

This brilliant game has the player taking pictures of bosses rather than directly shooting at them. Each level requires a set number of pics, and you can use the other button to slow the character down. Very fun!

Shoot the Bullet is the 9.5th game in the series of Touhou games released by ZUN. Subterranean Animism

Subterranean Animism (Japanese: "Touhou Chireiden") is the eleventh game in the Touhou series of manic shoot 'em ups. Like the previous game, Mountain of Faith, collecting power-ups increases the number of "options" around your character (which can be sacrificed as bombs). However, the scoring is based around the concept of "grazing" bullets by flying close to them, which increases the amount of points you can receive.

More brilliance from Zun, this one plays a lot like Mountain of Faith.
