Thank you!
The artillery tip did the trick. I finally beat that silly little fucker. In fact, while it was a close call, I felt artillery made the whole thing so cheap and trivial I wanted to bang my head against the wall for not using it before. (I tried artillery but the super-spread pattern and low damage annoyed me until I realised it's perfect to get rid of missile barrage and annoying shit blocking my dash-o-modo).
I even saved the damn replay just to have some peace of mind.
Jeez, the bosses of this game can be so infuriating! I love the stages, I don't have issues with them nor the mid bosses. I breezed through Easy Mode. Normal is a completely different beast. Hard and Special are a no-go for me. And the bosses, oh my. The first two are ok. The second in fact shows you a glimpse of what is coming with a never ending cataract of ice and shit falling on you that gives you little room for mistakes. lol, well, I know I'm overreacting but that one boss drove me mad.
I almost have Stage 4 ready after clearing this mess. The boss at least isn't THAT hard except towards the end when the pop vocals come to pierce my ears and I feel an urge to finish the battle ASAP but those green blocks keep pushing me to the border of the screen and explode... I think I'll just bomb the hell out of her. And I still don't have the zapper. Speaks of how much I actually played the game compared to others...
Oh, and I have ver 1.1. Cleared stage 7 on easy again and voila, there was the extra stage, which appropriately handed my ass on easy modo so I don't think I'll ever want to try it in normal.

Artillery/4 Cannon is one of the most useful weapons in the game (except against Suguri's stage 7 boss and Sora's Extra stage first boss), it just doesn't work when there's one small target with no other enemies/missiles/other annoyances in the way. On the Extra stage, I used Pod instead of Artillery. Also, if you don't know the meaning behind the colors of the attacks of the first Extra stage boss, here they are:
Spoiler
Also, Zapper is the second to last weapon you get (then Accelerator), and it's fitting, since it's so overpowered.

Flamethrower, that new red beam riffle, and the machine gun are the most obvious examples.

Its funny because I'm still not sure if the game is finished yet or not. They might still add something like a hidden weapon if you beat all the difficulties on S mode.

Ok, I'll take that into account for the Extra. I'm hoping to pwn stage 4-5 soon. 6 looks like it's going to be a pain in the rear and Stage 7/Extra will have me yelling for a long time.
Also, my replay. So many mistakes, a broken chain and such. But it's to showcase artillery really does the trick. Thanks everyone.

*spoilers follow*
Yeah did a test and can confirm that you currently don't get anything new even if
you beat every SP/hard/normal/easy stage with an S. I meant though that maybe there will be another patch in the future that will open something up--Suguri's final patch was 1.2b... you never know with these guys.
Wow, I didn't know that the rifle-h increased with heat. I'll give it another try, but I expect it'll still miss targets so much so as to be less than useful--particularly against bosses. Honestly since you've shared that wikipedia link I realized that many of my assumptions, like what was the strongest hyper were wrong....pods are the strongest? Bullets (when they all hit) do more damage than the beam rifles? Whoa...
You know I also never knew that the accelerator's hyper recovers red hp--I had actually stop using it because I thought all it was doing was shielding me. In other words, I thought it was for 1337 show-offs trying to prove they don't need hyper weapons....
IMO the hardest part of the third special during the first-Ex fight was that the red and blue colors switched up on you...at least on normal difficulty (but not hard or special if I remember correctly...) I don't know how many times I'd consecutively get hit because the colors reversed suddenly on me. I found that if I used the pods and the zapper well, I could sometimes damage her quickly enough that she'd just skip the special where she shoots lasers at you and move on to the next one instead (which makes it a whole lot easier!)
Faster Matches/Glitch Musing:
One time I was spamming the zapper and I actually got the 2nd-ex fight boss down to almost one third of her last health bar, before that weird special force-edge move, and I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if I had been able to finish her off? (It'd have been ever more interesting to see on SP actually...would she just vanish without starting her special? Or if the timing was perfect on on normal, would she have gone to do her force edge special, and then died the second she reappeared? Would she even reappear? Would the game freeze? Hahaha...)
By the way, an easier similar experiment to try might be killing Nath (5th boss) on a non-special difficulty without letting her complete her final healing/transformation. Like with some delayed-hit weapons (pulsegun or spinners, followed by bazooka/artillery speedkilling....or maybe with the pod hypers since I know how strong they are now.... might be fun to try later....there might even be a glitch.

Canceled Rifle-H shots creates a 3-way shot instead. And yes, like all canceled shots it does more damage. The damage it does if all three shots hit is pretty good. Also Rifle-H cannot be charged. If you attempt to charge it the gun will enter a rapid fire mode instead.

Hey they recently announced a sequel to AoS, called "Acceleration of Suguri 2." It will include the characters from Sora, along with the characters from Suguri. The art seems different...not sure if the artist has had an art shift, or they hired a new artist but its now similar to the PS3 version.
