Unless you want the actual copy of course! In which case you're kinda outta luck since HimeyaShop don't seem to have it. Unless anyone knows any other better places with Doujin games for sale.

Paletweb has it, but it's a bit more expensive there. Game costs 1870 yen, which is around 20-22usd. The yen/usd isn't going too well, damn.

However, it seems it sold out. You can try requesting for it again though.

Aw man, I just got to the final level.

Holy crap, there are bombs, lasers, bullets, exploding coils, and flamethrowers everywhere!!!!
I can make it to the boss's second stage (2nd health bar) so far.
I wonder what her final stage is like...

Second phase is easier than it looks. You don't need to destroy the flamethrowers, just target the boss.

But, oh man you will hate her last phase. It will destroy you. Seriously it will. In fact, its the only thing that is stopping me from clearing Arcade mode on Easy. I haven't reached her in Normal yet (Stage 6 Boss is giving me hassles). I don't think I'll be able to defeat her =(

Also is it just me, or us she inspired of Utsuho? I mean, the fact she's a nuclear warhead is one thing, but don't you think her attacks are heavily inspired off her? >_>

Not going to spoil everyone but...

It's imposing, no denying, but the song and such... I found it all a bit underwhelming. Nice, but... needed moar dakka. Or maybe I was expecting the Stone-Like or Garland+Lost Property 771.

The flamethrowers are invulnerable to all attacks as far as I know. The only issue I have with the last phase is that laser that pushes you to the left.

I don't see too much inspiration from Utsuho, maybe the bombs that are also on the stage 6 boss, but nothing else really even close to similar.

By the way, Artillery may be one of the best weapons in the game, though it's mostly a nerfed 4 Cannon from Suguri (which was the absolute best, as hitting with the whole thing did more damage than all but like 3 Hyper attacks). Artillery's range is a little wider than 4 Cannon, and not all of the shots are coming from your position, they come from side bits. This also applies for the Hyper, where they can actually be destroyed.

I'm definitely having a lot of fun with Sora.
Though I just wish I knew what was happening in the story >_>
It definitely has a darker tone than Suguri.
I wonder if Rockin Android has any plans to localize it.

As for fighting Starbreaker in the final level....yeah I definitely liked fighting Hime in Suguri more.
Mainly because Rendezvous is such an epic song to go with it.
Oh well.

I hope Orange_Juice make a fighting version like Acceleration or Suguri.
Oooh and maybe even add in all the characters from Suguri as well!!

For those that have beat the game, does beating the game (on Easy) unlock Match mode? Also, if anyone's done it, does beating it on Normal unlock Special difficulty in Match mode? I really don't want to unlock Match mode by play count, and I think I'm pretty close to doing that, but I may be able to beat stage 7 on Easy pretty soon. Stupid giant things that explode on the last phase.

Yes. Beating Sora on easy mode does unlock Match mode.
And yeah the artilleray does a lot of damage, and I used it to beat the later bosses and the 7th. However for the earlier bosses I prefer dash-cancelling + the bazooka. That combo is even faster at killing the bosses than the sword, but the strategy doesn't work well later in the game when there are more objects to block your shots.

Also, the 1.0a patch was released on the official site today, which does little except:
-fix a bug that causes replays to be different
-change the garments on stage 1
-fix a bug that could crash your game if you played too long
-fixed a typo in the dialog

Now about the ending:

So the patch doesn't remove the forced cutscenes+stage 1 on easy when you first try the game. Seriously, that will make customers run away or feel quite uncomfortable, especially when they find out they have to make the stage again... Siter Skain and Yotsubane listened, heck, I think even Rebrank appears to be listening.

If there are some levels still missing I'm fearing an expansion (like Acceleration of Suguri X-Edition) rather than a patch with the stages for free. Wish it could be like icewind and Diadra Empty, providing two new stages for free and rearranging a lot of the game attack patterns and enemy formations.

Well that's gonna be a piece of idiotic game design on their account. Wished they'd fixed the menu buttons too; I don't like having my Confirm and Cancel button for the menus being way too far apart from each other. :b

Agreed. It really bothers me because the game looks super polished and pretty plus the controls are a bit more responsive than the original Suguri. However, graphics alone don't make a good game. And the music of Suguri was super cheerful, powerful and I agree Hime's theme was great.

Let's see what happens if there are more updates coming.

Yeah, I used to have an issue with them swapping the Hyper and Dash buttons around. Someone else apparently had a problem with that as well, as they posted about it on their support BBS. By the time that the updated trial came out where they addressed that, I had gotten used to the buttons being switched, so I didn't end up using that feature.

Not to mention that Sora does not have a config executable ("config.exe" like in Surugi or Acceleration of Surugi / X-Edition) for this game; instead we get a crappy text file that you have to look up the internet to translate what it does and the key code for each button. Last time I checked, no PC doujin game should force you to change the settings of the game (mainly the control scheme of the game) this way. It should be the simple way of clicking and labeling what button does what.

You can change those controls inside the game too.

@ Meseki: yeah the keyboard layout was a mess. I kept hitting the hyper © accidently when I was trying to hit v and dash, and it was very tedious for me to use the S lock on, when it mattered for the 2nd boss. I also tended to get thrown off whenever I suddenly had to switch between using my sword to some other weapon.

By the way, does anyone know where the replays are saved on your computer? I tried transferring my game from my laptop to my desktop, but I lost all my data and had to start over at stage 1. What gives?

Tried that; you can only change the control for a gamepad (i.e. Xbox 360 controller) in the game, not the keyboard. And that's if a gamepad's plugged in the computer's USB port. If you try selecting control configuration in the options menu without one plugged in, you get a message telling you that there's no controller plugged in.

As for the replays, its stored in another folder away from the game's directory (its the circle's name in Japanese > Sora in Japanese > replays and configuration and save files, etc.). Another moot point of programing if you ask me; why didn't they put it all in the game's directory.
